My Projects

In order to realise my aim to break into the journalist industry, I have undertaken several projects.

Firstly, this blog gives me free reign to post, talk and discuss as I wish and is an excellent starting point to see what interests me, inspires me, or even annoys me. The range of different posts will hopefully cater for all of those interested in different areas of daily news and opinion.

Elsewhere, I write for one of the student newspapers available at university: The Yorker (no prizes on guessing the educational establishment!). To see some of the excellent writers and their pieces, do not hesitiate to visit: http://www.theyorker.co.uk/

As well as writing for the news section of the paper, I was recently elected editor of the music section, which involves co-ordinating weekly meetings, ensuring continued content for the paper and liasing with various music moguls around York and the country. Intense and fast paced, the position ensures that I am always aware of changing circumstances and what goes live on the web.

To see some of my own pieces, visit the reporter specific page: http://www.theyorker.co.uk/news/archive/reporter/595/

In addition to the above, I have had work experience with the BBC and the Manchester Evening Newspaper, with pieces having been published to the public.

Finally, to have that first experience of living and working abroad, I have a job at Disneyland Paris. Nothing like keeping the childhood alive to keep it young, fresh and (as the news) global and multicultural.
